A Seminar on Dengue Awareness was organized at Quaid-e- Azam International Hospital. Dr. Javed Akram CEO PIMS and Vice Chancellor Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University was key note speaker.
In his detailed lecture by Dr. Javed Akram covered all aspects regarding spread, prevention and contral of Dengue Fever. A large number of Consultants, Medical Officers and para medical staff attended the seminar.
Dr. Akram briefed the participants about dengue, Hemorrhagic Fever and Dengue Shock Syndrome and how these have been claiming lives the world over. He said Dengue is endemic in Pakistan and is at its peak in the post monsoon period.
Dr. Shaukat Ali Bangash CEO Q.I.H also briefed participants about hospital,s preparedness keeping in view the current situation after the outbreak in KPK. He urged that citizens should properly dispose of solid waste and stop water storage practices at their residences to prevent any access to egg-laying female mosquitoes which cause the dengue fever through their bites. In the end he thanked Dr. Javed and providing in valuable information.
