A seminar on dysphagia was organized in Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital by Miss Amina Imran on 12th June 2015.
A team of doctors including Gastroenterologists, Neurologists, Pulmonologists, Senior ICU staff, Dietitations and Speech/Language Pathologists shared their valuable expertise on the subject.
Students and teachers from Ripah International University also took part in the event.
Doctors from Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Combined Military Hospital (CMH) as well as Military Hospital (MH) were also present.
The event was very informative as it gave a whole picture to the participants about dysphagia and its complications and how doctors work in collaboration and close proximity with Speech/Language Pathologists. It was a very interactive event; students were given full opportunity to participate. The doctors were very open to query.
The part of seminar that made it exclusive was the instrumental assessment of dysphagia. It included visits to radiology department for barium swallow test, ICU for oxi -patient and ENT for endoscopy evaluation for swallowing.
The seminar also included an address by the CEO of Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital, Dr. Shaukat Ali Bangash. A documentary on the remarkable journey of Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital was also presented in the seminar.
In the end, certificates and souvenirs were presented to all participants.
