
Renowned Indian Liver Transplant Surgeon Prof. Dr. Subash Gupta visited Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital, Islamabad today as a part of the International Faculty Linkage Program started by the Hepatology and liver transplant department at the Hospital.
He was received by the hospital administration headed by Dr. Najmul Hassan Shah, the head of Hepatology Department team at QIH along with hospital management team.
A large number of patients were recruited for an open outpatient clinic for Prof. Dr. Subash Gupta. He examined a number of patients, who required liver transplantation and accepted them to be transplanted in India at his center. A number of post transplant patients, who already underwent surgery by Prof. Dr. Subash Gupta in India were also followed up in the clinic and reviewed for advised and management.

On this occasion Prof. Dr. Subash Gupta agreed on memorandum of understanding with the hospital to confirm his full commitment to undertake regular liver transplant surgery at QIH. The CEO of the hospital Dr. Shaukat Ali Bangash offered thanks to the visiting surgeon on this occasion and appreciated his gesture to accept the offer for regularly entering visiting the QIH for undertaking regular transplant surgery
A team of Hepatology and liver transplant will visit India shortly and a return visit will be made by the liver transplant and surgical faculty of Prof. Dr. Subash Gupta’s center to QIH with the expectation to begin liver transplant surgery within next 3 months at QIH.
