The head of department of speech and language pathology Ms.Amina Imran organized a seminar on “Language disorders secondary to right hemispheric damage” on 24th May 2017.
A very comprehensive seminar was conducted. A consultant neurologist from QIH Dr Talha Waqar, who is a diplomate of American Board of Psychiatry and neurology, delivered the neurological aspects of the right hemispheric brain damage and its presentation. A guest speaker Maam faiza Badar who is a speech and language pathologist and associate allied health officer from Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad was invited to deliver the language deficit areas, it’s assessments and interventions.
The seminar had an overwhelming response from the attendants. It had participants from different disciplines, which were doctors, psychologist, special educationist and speech and language pathologists.
Hope in future further such learning activities will be persuaded by the department.
