A lecture on Liaison Psychiatry was organized by the Psychiatry Department of Q.I.H. Professor Dr. Fareed Aslam Minhas Dean Faculty of Psychiatry CPSP & head of Institute of Psychiatry and WHO collaborating center delivered a lecture.
Dr. Sabahat Hameed Consultant Psychiatrist of Q.I.H said that we as clinicians & health professional need to play a role toward alarming mental health issues and understand the interface between physical and psychological health. Delivering the lecture on this occasion Professor Dr Fareed Minhas highlighted the importance of liaison between the psychiatrist and other specialties. He said that mental disorders are often unrecognized due to somatic presentation of symptoms of all cases of depression in the hospitals which may increase mortality rates.
The conference was attended by a large numbers of consultants, medical officers and nursing staff of the Q.I.H. At the end C.E.O QIH, Dr. Shaukat Ali Bangash presented a souvenir to Professor Dr. Fareed Minhas.
