A seminar on "management of colorectal cancer” was organized on 24th February, 2016 by the Oncology Department of Q.I.H in collaboration with Surgery, Pathology and Radiology Departments.
The speakers included Brig. (R) Dr. Azhar Mubarak consultant Histopathologist, Dr. Rabia Waseem consultant radiologist, Dr. Hassan from surgery department and Dr Nadeem Zia Abbassi consultant clinical oncologist. The speakers emphasized the multi-disciplinary approach to the management of cancer. All management aspects of colorectal cancer including primary and secondary prevention, the role of gene mutations, imaging modalities available, the surgical and oncological aspects of the management of colorectal cancer were discussed in detail. The presentations were followed by an interactive session.
The seminar was attended by a large numbers of consultants and medical officers of Q.I.H. At the end, the chair, Dr. Khalid Saleem Aslam Director Surgery delivering his vote of thanks appreciate the initiative and emphasized on having such multidisciplinary activities at QIH on regular basis.
